WHAT IS TASIGNA?
Tasigna (nilotinib) is a cancer drug that prevents cancer cells from growing and spreading in the body. Tasigna is frequently prescribed when previous drugs have failed to work.
USE
Nilotinib is used to treat a certain type of blood cancer (chronic myelogenous leukemia-CML). It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells.
WARNINGS
If you have long QT syndrome or low potassium or magnesium levels in your blood, you should avoid using Tasigna. Tasigna can cause major heart problems, especially if you use it with certain other medications.
PRECAUTIONS
Before taking nilotinib, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to lactose/galactose; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
BEFORE TAKING THIS MEDICINE
You should not use Tasigna if you are allergic to nilotinib, or if you have: low potassium or magnesium levels in the blood; or long QT syndrome, a heart rhythm issue.

heart disease, heartbeat issues, or long QT syndrome (in yourself or a family member); a stroke; leg blood circulation problems; bleeding problems; low blood potassium or magnesium levels; severe lactose (milk sugar) problems; liver disease; pancreatitis; or stomach surgery (total gastrectomy).
HOW SHOULD I TAKE TASIGNA?
Tasigna is taken every 12 hours on average. Follow the instructions on the back of your prescription bottle. This medicine should not be taken in bigger or smaller doses or for longer than suggested.
COMMON TASIGNA SIDE EFFECTS
Night sweats; pain in your bones, spine, joints, or muscles; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation; rash, transient hair loss; headache, fatigue; or a stuffy or runny nose, sneezing, coughing, or a sore throat.

STORAGE
