LIPITOR (ATORVASTATIN) is one of a group of inhibitors or ‘statins’ of HMG CoA drugs. Atorvastatin is the generic equivalent for Lipitor.

In people with Type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease or other risks factor, atorvastatin is used to treat high cholesterol and to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack and other cardiac complications.
