DESCRIPTION

 

Atrovent HFA (ipratropium bromide HFA) is an anticholinergic bronchodilator, packaged in an inhaler, used for maintenance and treatment of bronchospasm associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis, and emphysema.

HOW TO USE ANTROVENT INHALER?

 

Using ATROVENT HFA in 5 main steps

  • INSERT the metal canister into the clear end of the mouthpiece. 
  • REMOVE the green protective dust cap. 
  • EXHALE (breathe out) deeply through your mouth.
  • INHALE (breathe in) one puff. 
  • HOLD your breath for 10 seconds and then take the mouthpiece out of your mouth and breathe out slowly.

 

SIDE EFFECTS

 

It is possible to have dizziness, nausea, stomach trouble, dry mouth, or constipation. Inform your doctor or pharmacist right once if any of these side effects continue or worsen.

 

STORAGE

 

Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light. Keep the cover on your inhaler when not in use. Keep away from open flame or high heat. The canister may explode if it gets too hot. Do not puncture or burn an empty inhaler canister.
