DESCRIPTION

Frontline flea treatment is a spot on solution for the treatment and prevention of flea and tick infestations and for the control of biting lice in cats. Each pipette of Frontline flea treatment for cats contains Fipronil. Fipronil is an insecticide that disrupts the insect central nervous system which then causes them to die. Once applied, Frontline flea treatment causes hyperexcitation and this will mean that you will notice more fleas on your animal. Don’t worry, this means it’s working! Each pipette contains 0.5 ml of liquid and will treat a cat weighing up to 6.6kg.

FRONTLINE  Spot On is a topical treatment which goes over your cat’s skin and hair to kill fleas and ticks through contact with them – they don’t have to bite your cat to be killed. Bathing/shampooing/water exposure once a week does not affect the product’s effectiveness. Do not bathe your cat for 2 days after application. If your cat is unwell, please see your vet for advice before you apply a flea treatment. FRONTLINE Spot On for Cats is not suitable for use on rabbits.

*Efficacy against ticks up to 2 weeks in cats. Minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks.

USE

FRONTLINE Spot On for Cats is for use in the treatment of fleas and the prevention of infestations by fleas and ticks or as part of a treatment strategy for Flea Allergy Dermatitis. FRONTLINE Spot On for Cats 6 pack can be used on kittens from 8 weeks of age.

HOW TO APPLY FRONTLINE SPOT ON

Hold the pipette upright. Tap the narrow part of the pipette to ensure that the contents are within the main body of the pipette. Break back the snap-off top along the scored line. Part the fur between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze gently to empty the contents onto the skin at two spots; one at the base of the skull and one 2-3cm further back.

Once applied, Frontline will last for up to one month. It is important to make sure the product is applied to an area where the cat cannot lick the product off. Always make sure that other cats do not lick the area either. It is recommended to not bathe your cat within 2 days of applying Frontline flea treatment.

CHECKLIST FOR USING FRONTLINE SPOT ON:

– Your cat is at least eight weeks old

– Your cat weighs at least 1kg

– Your cat shows no signs of lesions or feeling unwell. If they show any of these signs, you should not apply the product and see a veterinary surgeon

No flea product can stop fleas jumping onto your pets. It is normal to see a few fleas on your pet after treatment as new fleas continue to hatch out from infested environments. These fleas will be killed within 24 hours of jumping onto your treated pet.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

By topical application to the skin.
Dosage 1 pipette of 0.5 ml per cat (approximately 7.5 – 15 mg/kg); follow the instructions on the packet for correct application.
