WHAT IS LOSARTAN?

Losartan belongs to the angiotensin II receptor antagonist class of medicines. It prevents blood arteries from constricting, lowering blood pressure and increasing blood flow.

Losartan is a medication that is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It’s also used to help those with heart problems reduce their risk of stroke. Losartan is the generic equivalent for Cozaar.

• kidney failure; illness of the liver; heart failure due to congestive heart failure; an electrolyte imbalance (for example, low potassium levels in the blood); or If you’re thirsty, drink some water.

Losartan can be taken with or without food.
