Purpose of Seretide

Seretide is a combination inhaler with two medicines, fluticasone and salmeterol mixed together in an inhaler (puffer) or an accuser. It is used to treat the symptoms of asthma and COPD and to prevent them from recurring.

Fluticasone works by preventing swelling and irritation in the walls of the small air passages in the lungs. Seretide works by relaxing and opening up the air passages and in that way makes breathing easier.

Seretide Uses

Seretide is indicated for the routine treatment of asthma (reversible obstructive pulmonary disease) in adults, adolescents, and children 4 years of age and older when combined with bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroids are appropriate.

How do you use a

Seretide should be inhaled into your lungs through the mouth, through one of two presentations; the ACCUHALER or the Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI).

Even if you have been shown before, ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain how to use your inhaler if you still have any questions.

Seretide Dosage

The dose of Seretide will be different for different people depending on the severity of your symptoms and the strength of your MDI or accuhaler.

Using MDI:  the usual dose is 2 puffs two times a day.

Using Accuhaler: the usual dose is 1 inhalation once or two times a day.
