Purpose of Sertraline

Sertraline is an antidepressant that belongs to a collection of medicine referred to as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Sertraline Uses

Sertraline treats depression, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety disorder (social phobia), and a severe form of premenstrual syndrome (premenstrual dysphoria). This drug can improve mood, sleep, and mood. Helps improve appetite and energy levels and regain interest in daily life. It can reduce the number of anxiety, restlessness, unwanted thoughts, and panic attacks. It can also reduce the urge to perform repetitive tasks (the urge to wash your hands, count, check, etc.). It is also known as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It helps restore the balance of a certain natural substance (serotonin) in the brain.





How do you use Sertraline


  • Take this medicine as directed by your doctor, usually once a day, in the morning or evening. Sertraline can be taken with or without food.


  • 25 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg capsules are usually taken with food. 150 mg and 200 mg capsules can be taken with or without food. If you have any questions about taking capsules of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.


  • The liquid form of this drug must be mixed with another liquid before use. Carefully measure the amount with the attached dropper just before taking it.


  • Do not use a household spoon as it may not give the correct dose. Mix with 1/2 cup (4 oz/120 ml) of water, ginger ale, lemonade, lemonade, or orange juice. Do not use other liquids to mix this medicine.


  • The mixture of the solution may appear cloudy, which is normal and harmless. Take all the mixture immediately. Do not prepare the delivery in advance.




Sertraline Dosage

Adults – Start with 50 milligrams (mg) once daily in the morning or evening. The dosage may be adjusted by your doctor as needed. However, normally he should not exceed 200 mg per day.


Children – Usage and dose should be determined by your doctor.

Report any new or worsening symptoms to your doctors, such as depression, suicidal thoughts, or self-harm.



Sertraline Storage

Store in a dry, cool place away from heat and direct sunlight. Caution should be used when sertraline is used in combination with other drugs.
