Purpose of Sevikar

Sevikar contains two substances called olmesartan medoxomil and amlodipine (as amlodipine besylate). Both substances help control high blood pressure. Olmesartan medoxomil belongs to a group of drugs called “angiotensin II receptor blockers” that relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure.

Sevikar Uses

SEVIKAR is used to treat high blood pressure, sometimes called hypertension.

Everyone has blood pressure. Blood pressure varies at different times of the day depending on how busy and anxious you are. High blood pressure (hypertension) occurs when you are calm and relaxed but your blood pressure remains higher than it should be. Most of the time, there are usually no symptoms of high blood pressure. The only way to know if you have high blood pressure is to have your blood pressure checked regularly. Left untreated, high blood pressure can lead to serious health problems such as stroke, heart disease, and kidney failure.

How do you use Sevikar
Sevikar tablets can be taken with or without food. Swallow the tablet with a liquid (such as a glass of water). Do not chew the tablets.

Sevikar Dosage

The recommended dose of taking Sevikar is one tablet daily.

Sevikar 20 mg/5 mg can be administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on olmesartan medoxomil 20 mg or amlodipine 5 mg alone.

Sevikar Side Effects

Sevikar works well for most people with high blood pressure, but it can have unwanted side effects in some people.

• feeling light-headed, dizzy, or faint
• cough
• headache
• feeling sick (nausea) or vomiting
• diarrhea
• unusual tiredness or weakness
• fatigue
• ‘flu-like’ symptoms
• bronchitis
• sore throat and discomfort when swallowing (pharyngitis)
• back pain
• urinary tract infection
• swelling of the face, hands, feet, or ankles

Sevikar Storage
Leave the tablets in the box until you are ready to take them. Once the tablets are taken out of the box, they do not store well.
