Purpose of Spiolto
Olodaterol and tiotropium belong to the bronchodilator family. Bronchodilators are inhaled by mouth to help open the bronchi (airways) in the lungs. Taken by inhalation (inhaler), it increases airflow to the lungs.
Spiolto Respimat is used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, also known as COPD. COPD is a serious lung disease that causes difficulty breathing and a constant cough. The term COPD is associated with diseases of chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Spiolto Respimat contains the active substances tiotropium (as bromide monohydrate) and olodaterol (as hydrochloride).
Olodaterol belongs to a group of drugs called long-acting bronchodilators.
