Purpose of Triumeq

Abacavir/dolutegravir/lamivudine, also marketed under the brand name Triumeq, is a fixed-dose combination antiretroviral drug used to treat HIV/AIDS. It is a combination of three drugs with different complementary mechanisms of action: abacavir, dolutegravir and lamivudine.

Triumeq Uses

This product contains three drugs: abacavir, dolutegravir, and lamivudine. Used to control HIV infection. It reduces the amount of HIV in the body and makes the immune system work better. This reduces the risk of contracting HIV complications (such as new infections and cancer) and improves the quality of life. This drug is not a cure for HIV infection. To reduce the risk of passing HIV infection to others, continue to take all HIV medications as directed by your doctor. During sexual activity, use an effective barrier method (latex or polyurethane condoms/dental dams) as directed by your doctor. Do not share personal items (needles/syringes, toothbrushes, razors, etc.).

How do you use a Triumeq

Take this medicine by mouth, usually once daily, with or without food, as directed by your doctor. If you are taking certain other medicines, your doctor may also tell you to take dolutegravir.

Take this medicine at least 2 hours before or 6 hours after taking sucralfate and products containing aluminum or magnesium (such as antacids, laxatives, buffering agents). These products bind to dolutegravir and make it less effective. If you are also taking calcium or iron supplements (including vitamins/minerals containing calcium or iron), take this medicine at least 2 hours before or 6 hours after these products. Alternatively, if you are taking this medicine with food, you can take the supplements at the same time.

Triumeq Dosage

Administer Triumeq Dispersible Tablets with or without food. Instruct the patient (or caregiver) to completely dissolve the dispersible tablet in her 20 mL of drinking water in the provided cup. Swirl the suspension so that no clumps remain.

Triumeq Side Effects

As the immune system strengthens, it can begin to fight off infections that have already spread, and symptoms of the disease can return. This reaction can occur at any time (immediately after starting HIV treatment or months later).

Seek immediate medical attention if you have any of the following serious symptoms: For example, unexplained weight loss, severe fatigue, persistent muscle pain/weakness, severe or persistent headaches, joint pain, numbness/tingling in hands/legs/arms/legs, visual disturbances, signs of infection ( fever, chills, swollen lymph nodes, difficulty breathing, cough, sores that do not heal), signs of hyperthyroidism (irritability, nervousness, intolerance, etc.) fever, fast/pounding/irregular heartbeat, eyeballs Protrusion, abnormal neck/thyroid growth known as goiter, signs of certain nerve problems known as Guillain-Barré syndrome (unstableness, loss of coordination, difficulty swallowing/speaking/biting, eye movements).

Triumeq Storage

Store Triumeq at room temperature between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F). Store your Triumec in the original bottle.
