WHAT IS NORVASC?
Norvasc (amlodipine) is a calcium channel blocker that enhances blood flow by dilating (widening) blood vessels.
Norvasc is a drug that is used to treat angina (chest discomfort) and other symptoms of coronary artery disease.
Amlodipine is used to treat high blood pressure, either alone or in combination with other drugs. Lowering high blood pressure aids in the prevention of strokes, heart attacks, and kidney disorders. Amlodipine belongs to the calcium channel blocker class of medicines. It works by relaxing blood arteries, allowing blood to flow more freely. Amlodipine is also used to treat and prevent certain types of chest discomfort (angina). It may improve your capacity to exercise and reduce the frequency of angina attacks. It should not be used to treat acute bouts of chest discomfort. As instructed by your doctor, use additional drugs (such as sublingual nitroglycerin) to treat bouts of chest discomfort.
HOW TO STORAGE
Store the tablets at room temperature away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medications away from children and pets.
If you have congestive heart failure or liver problems, consult your doctor before taking Norvasc. Alcohol can drop your blood pressure even more and may exacerbate some Norvasc adverse effects.
Even if you’re feeling fine, remain taking Norvasc if you’re being treated for high blood pressure. Symptoms of high blood pressure are often absent. It’s possible that you’ll have to take blood pressure medicine for the rest of your life.
