What is Xiidra and How Does It Work?

How To Apply Xiidra (Lifitegrast)?

After taking one single-use container out of the foil pouch, hold it upright and tap the top of the container to make sure all of the medication is at the bottom. Twist off the tab to open the container. Tilt your head backwards or lie down with your face up. Then, gently pull your lower eyelid down. While looking up, squeeze the container so that 1 drop of medication falls into the space between your lower eyelid and eye. After placing a drop in your eye, close your eye and press one finger to the inner corner of your eye by the nose for a couple minutes. This helps make sure your eye absorbs the drop. If you’re using more than one eye drop medication, remember to wait 5 minutes between each drop to give your eyes time to absorb each medication.

How To Store Xiidra (Lifitegrast)?

How long a medication remains good can depend on many factors, including how and where you store the medication. Xiidra single-dose containers should be stored in the foil pouch they were packaged in. After opening a foil pouch, fold over the top and keep it closed. This will help keep the rest of the single-dose containers fresh. This medication should be stored at room temperature, which is about 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C).
